Spencer Donnelly wakes up in the hospital after getting shot seven times. After surviving the shooting, and the multiple surgeries afterwards, he wonders if maybe he can’t die (this isn’t his first brush with death). He thinks he should use this gift to become a superhero.
But he lives in the real world, where we don’t have superheroes, and he’s an out-of-work video editor, desperate for a purpose.
A recovering comic book nerd and undiagnosed neurodivergent, Donnelly looks back at his life and all the accidents, traumas, dramas, family fights, and friendly escapades that led him to this decision.
